ETA4 MUSIC AND ARTS
Music and Art is another fundamental method of instruction that has been underutilized when instructing students in foreign languages. While teaching in summer 2008, Victor and Chris found that many students really responded to learning English songs as a way to help them with their vocabulary, pronunciation, and helped them greatly to understand slang terms, of which there are many in English. Challenging students to write songs in English using a variety of instruments will not only stimulate them musically, but intellectually as well. Music is a lot of fun, and can also be a great teaching tool if used correctly. By tapping the resource of music for educational purposes, ETA4 creates a well rounded learning experience.
